![]() ![]() The screws to the Night lock on the front door weren’t fully secure. The door to the balcony didn’t lock unless you use the latch lock. The rooms themselves are in dire need of refurbishment. The rooms are all tile floor which makes it very very dangerous when coming in from the pool or the beach if you’re wet. There is only carpeting outside of the rooms and in the stairwells. Never mind the fact that when you walk out of your room the parking garage surround the rooms. We just checked out of the resort today and the rooms are in dire need of a refurbishment. If you don’t have a car with you, make sure to pre-book a cab back to the airport as they are not super easy to get.… Bowling is one game free each day but you pay shoe rental (over $20 for a family of four.) The lanes are okay but older with some dents in the wood. We had a hard time getting out to the beach to see sunrise on two days and had to do some creative exiting from the building. The beach is great and the lifeguards are nice. Wet swim stuff does dry quickly on the balcony. Also, the A/C units are so loud that enjoying a calm sit on the balcony isn’t possible if the unit is running. If your balcony overlooks the pool, expect LOUD music from a DJ from 12-5pm most days. Extra towels were delivered quickly upon request, as well as extra blankets and pillows (one bedroom was significantly colder all the time that our main room). Housekeeping only visits when you check out so things can get very sandy if you stay a lot of days, but a broom and dustpan are provided. The rooms (depending on type) are a great size and have a decently equipped kitchen (no dishwasher). Our WiFi never worked during the stay and the beds were really uncomfortable, so much so I finally slept on the couch two nights. There are three other indoor hot tubs but none seemed super clean. The lazy River was small and didn’t have any current. There is an indoor pool but it was always crowded and not as clean. There are also two outdoor pools and one outdoor water play area for toddlers. The best thing about this hotel is proximity to the beach. We’re sure you’ll enjoy your stay at Captains Quarters Resort as you experience everything Myrtle Beach has to offer.
